Help Kickstart Buckwheat's World
Ei Toi to the legions of Buckwheat Zydeco fans
around the globe:
We want to let you know we're working on a new
project and Kickstarter campaign: Buckwheat’s
World - a YouTube video series. We’re
talking initially about six music-packed episodes
featuring the life and times of our hero – a genuine
Louisiana legend – Buckwheat Zydeco and we want
will be a fresh new way to showcase Buck’s music and
present a behind-the-scenes look at the richness and
enchanting character of southwest Louisiana
culture…through the utterly enchanting character
that is Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural, Jr.
In addition to new, live musical performances from
the band, Buckwheat’s World episodes
will feature scenes of Buck doing what he does every
day. He might be working on one of his vehicles,
tending his menagerie of animals, boiling crawfish,
hanging out with friends and band mates, fishing on
the bayou, taking care of Buck business… basically
doing all the stuff that makes up Buckwheat’s
World. No one has ever seen anything like it!
Please, take a couple of minutes and check out the
Buckwheat’s World Kickstarter
campaign, including all the swell
premiums you can get for participating, at:
We hope we can count on your support. We would also
greatly appreciate it if you would share this info
and the Kickstarter link with your contacts through
social media and good old fashioned word of mouth.
It all ends on March 31, so…
Thanks in advance!
Buckwheat Zydeco Kicks Off Final Fallon Show
Jimmy Fallon, the guy who has dueted with Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Eddie Vedder, President Obama and anyone else he wanted, chose Buckwheat Zydeco to kick off Friday’s final Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show. Fallon take over “The Tonight Show” from Jay Leno on February 17.
Playing "On a Night Like This" from Buckwheat Zydeco's first Island Records album of the same name, super fan Jimmy Fallon performed alongside Buckwheat Zydeco and The Roots. The show opened “cold” without any announcement except a tight close-up of “Buckwheat” spelled out in jeweled letters on Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural’s accordion. Buckwheat and Jimmy traded vocals on Buckwheat Zydeco’s cover of this little known Bob Dylan tune. Jimmy rocked out on a red guitar, and the two played out the song with a rousing instrumental throw down.
Jimmy said he wanted Buckwheat Zydeco’s appearance on his last show to be a surprise. He introduced and thanked Buckwheat from his desk after the performance, and displayed the band’s latest, Grammy-winning Alligator Records album, “Lay Your Burden Down”.
“Man we had a blast,” said Dural. “It was such an honor to be a part of this. It’s history! And Jimmy and The Roots couldn’t have been nicer. It felt like our home away from home.”

a fun time at Buck’s place on the bayou, and it kicks into
high gear with the joyous “We’re Having a Party.”
Buck and friends get kids into a festive mood with good-time boogie

My Rice” and “Ripsy Dipsy” prove that nothing
stops him from having a good time, even when “Everything Hurts.”
The celebration ends as happily as it started with “The Party’s
